Rhode Island Seafood, Climate, & Energy Symposium
An ambitious and timely gathering that boldly tackles the challenges at the intersection of seafood, climate, and energy in the Ocean State. Hosted by the Commercial Fisheries Center of Rhode Island and Fishery Friendly Climate Action Campaign.
When: Monday, March 4, 2024 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Where: Mosby Center, URI GSO Bay Campus [download map]
Who should attend: All members of Rhode Island’s fishing and seafood industry
Why a symposium: Climate and energy issues are now pervasive in fisheries, ranging from the changes we see in our catches to the pressures we see on the ocean to provide a source of climate solutions. It’s more vital than ever to get informed, stay connected, and leverage our collective power to seek out solutions that offer triple-wins for seafood, the ocean, and the climate.
Why you should attend: Come to learn, connect, and drive industry priorities forward. Each of the day’s sessions will include direct opportunities to provide insights into new and ongoing state and industry-led processes. Participants will also have the option to join some specific task forces to keep the momentum going.
Also included: A special input session for the seafood community on the RI Food System Planning for 2030 process, led by Commerce RI.
Coffee, pastries, and lunch provided!
